Laurence Ritchie and Andy Riley are no strangers to deep house music fans. Already famous from their releases under the alias "Inland Knights" on Drop Music, they have continued to produce several acclaimed releases for labels such as Panhandle, D.I.Y. and Siesta over the last two years. Vista Recordings is proud to feature their "Understanding EP" (VIS-002) as one of our first releases, a record that continues the series of high quality deep house cutz that Laurence and Andy are known for. Though Drop Music's Inland Knights are definitely house, there is something about them that catches the tech-house lover's ear. Perhaps it is their tendency to be unconventional, using steel band motifs amongst the more usual guitar locks and flute warblings on Breakin Out. Or maybe it is the driving yet light footed bass lines. Either way, the three tracks here are damn fine.
